Apple Monster Mouths
Silly, sweet, and delightfully tart, Apple Monster Mouths are a classic Halloween snack that never goes out of style. Made by sandwiching a row of mini marshmallow “teeth” between two wedges of crisp red apples slathered with creamy peanut butter or almond butter, these snacks look like goofy grins. A single strawberry slice can be inserted to look like a tongue sticking out, creating an incredibly cute and wholesome snack that kids will scramble to devour.
To prevent the apple slices from turning brown while sitting out on your snack table, toss them gently in a little bit of lemon juice before assembling. For a nut-free alternative, sunflower seed butter works wonderfully. You can also use slivered almonds instead of marshmallows for a sharper, more vampire-like set of fangs.
