What This Idea Means
Honey and honeycomb are critical for redstone builders and aesthetic decorators alike. This farm uses observers to detect when bee hives reach maximum honey levels, firing glass bottles or shears instantly without angering the bees.
How to Make It
- Place Bee Hives facing outward with flowers positioned directly in front of them inside a enclosed greenhouse structure.
- Mount a comparator on the back of each hive to measure the honey fill level (it outputs signal strength 5 when full).
- Place a dispenser directly over or behind the hive facing into it, filled with shears (for honeycomb) or glass bottles (for honey bottles).
- Connect the output of signal strength 5 to trigger the dispenser automatically.
- Collect the items using hoppers underneath the flower pathways.
Tips & Variations
Pro Tip: Ensure a campfire (with carpet on top to protect the bees) is placed beneath the hive if you ever need to manually adjust blocks without getting attacked.
