17. The Twisted Crown Braid with Curly Ends
A softer, more touchable variation of the classic crown braid, this version uses two-strand rope twists instead of traditional three-strand weaves to frame the face.
How to Make It:
- Part your hair down the center into two equal sections (left and right).
- On the left side, take two strands from the front hairline and twist them around each other continuously, adding more hair into the twist as you work around the crown.
- Continue the rope twist all the way around your head until you reach the opposite side.
- Secure the end of the left twist discreetly behind your right ear with bobby pins.
- Repeat the twisting process on the right side, tucking it neatly alongside or beneath the first twist to form a complete, continuous rope crown.
- Let any loose curls at the nape of the neck spill out freely.
Tips and Variations:
- Tip: Twist the hair tightly in the direction opposite to how you cross the strands to ensure the rope twist holds its shape without unraveling.
- Variation: Dust the finished crown with a temporary metallic hair glitter spray for a magical, ethereal evening effect.
