19. The Cursed Pirate Treasure Cave
Take your neighbors on a journey deep into a subterranean cavern filled with cursed pirate treasure and skeletal guardians. Construct a cave entrance over your garage door or porch using dark, crumpled landscape fabric, papier-mâché, or painted expanding foam to mimic jagged rock formations. Inside this dark recess, arrange a glittering hoard of treasure: overflowing chests filled with gold coins, sparkling plastic gems, silver plates, and ornate candelabras.
Guarding this cursed wealth are the skeletal remains of the pirate crew. Position skeletons draped in tattered, salt-stained pirate garb throughout the cave. One skeleton can be slumped over a treasure chest, grasping a jewel-encrusted dagger, while another hangs from a noose or stands guard at the entrance holding a rusted cutlass. Use deep blue, emerald green, and gold spotlights to create a shimmering, watery light effect that mimics the reflection of light off damp cave walls and piles of gold, making the entire display feel incredibly immersive and magical.
